The FUSO Canter 3.5 t is ideally suited for use in the city and urban environments. Its compact dimensions and the design as a front steer without a nose make it extremely agile, manoeuvrable and shunting-friendly.

With the smallest turning circle in the 3.5-tonne class – 10.2 m with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm – and due to the excellent all-round visibility, Canter drivers can get further wherever they would have to shift into reverse gear with another van. All this, additionally, with increased driving comfort thanks to the standard independent wheel suspension on the front axle.

Speaking of getting further: With up to 5.7 m – at a wheelbase of 3,850 mm – the Canter 3.5 t is also the leader in its segment in terms of maximum body length.  

Its characteristic steel ladder frame – in frame widths of 700 mm or 750 mm, depending on the cab variant selected – gives the Canter chassis remarkable robustness and load-bearing capacity. This is complemented by above-average maximum axle loads – 1,950 kg on the front axle and 2,500 kg on the rear axle – and up to 3.5 tonnes permissible towing capacity. The Canter 3.5 t is a real light truck, everything else is just a van.

With the Canter 3.5 t, three cab variants allow for a customised and individual configuration.

  • The narrow version of the standard single cab, with a width of 1,695 mm, combines particularly compact exterior dimensions with a relatively spacious interior and three fully-fledged seats
  • With a width of 1,995 mm each, the two other variants, Comfort Single Cab and Comfort Double Cab, offer three and up to six seats respectively.With a width of 1,995 mm each, the two other variants, Comfort Single Cab and Comfort Double Cab, offer three and up to six seats respectively.

ENGINES.
STRONG AND EFFICIENT.

Two economical 3-litre engines are available for the Canter 3.5 t in the performance levels 95 kW (130 hp) and 110 kW (150 hp).

  • Its turbocharger featuring variable turbine geometry ensures an optimal response and consistently high torque even at low engine speed.
  • They feature the latest common-rail technology and a start-stop function as standard.
  • A closed, automatically regenerating diesel particulate filter in combination with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) cleans the exhaust gases.
  • The engines meet the EURO VI standard (stage E).

TRANSMISSION.
MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC.

Along with a conventional 5-speed manual transmission, FUSO offers the DUONIC® 2.0 dual-clutch transmission for the Canter 3.5 t.

  • The automated 6-speed transmission provides a comfortable shifting sensation without tractive effort interruption and with minimal wear.
  • In addition, there is the practical parking function for safe parking, the consumption-reducing integrated Eco Mode and other intelligent solutions such as the crawl function for easier manoeuvring and the Hill Start Assist to ensure the truck moves off smoothly on upward gradients.

SAFETY.
PROTECT AND SUPPORT.

The Canter 3.5 t is equipped with various modern assistance and safety systems.

  • ESP, ABS and driver airbag are of course standard.
  • Other systems, such as LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) and Sideguard Assist (Turning Assistant) are available as options.
  • In addition to the standard LED daytime running lights, there are optional front headlights in LED design.
  • In addition to the optional front passenger airbag, the seatbelt reminder enhances occupant safety.
  • A reinforced rear underride guard offers even better protection in the case of rear-end collisions.
